Telehealth Etiquette

For sessions, please be in a safe, private place where you are able to discuss sensitive topics without concern of being interrupted or overheard. You must be dressed, not under the influence of any substances, and have a stable internet connection. You MUST be in Maryland at the time of your session. If you are not, it will be counted as a missed appointment even if you log on. I am only licensed to practice in Maryland.

Electronic Communication (text and email)

While I understand the convenience of electronic communication, please do not communicate therapeutic details or information through text or email. These forms of communication are not protected, and I cannot guarantee the information sent remains private. Please keep information in texts and emails limited to scheduling and/or asking questions about my practice. I do my best to respond to inquiries within 1-2 business days. If it is an emergency, please get in touch with 911 or 988 for mental health crises. Thank you.

Social Media

I am unable to accept “friend” requests or similar connections with clients, or their family members or friends, on social media. This is to protect your confidentiality and privacy. Please note that any social media apps you use may connect you with me through the “people you know” or a similar feature. I cannot control this and do not interact with clients through social media.

Legal Proceedings

I can not make any suggestions, rulings, or recommendations regarding custody cases or similar court-related matters. I am not a lawyer, and I am not qualified to make these desicions/recommendations.

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel your appointment, you may cancel through the client portal or contact me by phone. For missed appointments or appointments canceled within 48 hours of the agreed-upon meet time, the full amount of the session will be due. I reserve the right to use and enforce attendance contracts as needed, which may result in changes to usually scheduled appointments as well as termination of services.

What counts as a missed appointment:

  • Being more than 10 minutes late to the appointment

  • Not showing up for your appointment

  • Canceling within 48 hours of your appointment

Emergency Cancellations: If there is a medical emergency or severe weather that prohibits you from logging into the meeting, please contact me via text or phone call as soon as possible.
